Rodrigue Daassi, Ph. D., holds a licence in agronomy from Université d’Abomey-Calavi (Benin) and a master’s in soil sciences from the same university, as well as a Ph. D. in wood and forest sciences from Université Laval. He has over 7 years’ experience under his belt in the sustainable management of soil fertility and crop fertilization as well as in the implementation of laboratory protocols. His Ph. D. focused on the study of lignins in ramial chipped wood and their fate in agricultural soils. Furthermore, during his postdoc research at Université Laval, he studied how to improve the process of isolating organosolv lignin from rice husk, the production of lignin nanoparticles using electrospray and the transformation of these particles into bioproducts for use in food packaging. He has expertise in the analytical chemistry of natural products. He will be putting his skillset to good use as a member of Biopterre’s Smart Cultures team.
